Pool Paddle May 17, 2008

Well it was to windy to paddle outside so we took it inside. Inside to the pool at the Y. Ten of us meet at the pool at noon for two hours of experimenting with methods for re-entering our boats if they tip, exiting the boats upside down and some experimented with learning to roll their kayaks. It was alot of fun ansd a bit of work too. Nice warm water, great people and the fact we learned somethings along the way made the work more fun han anything.. Personnally we learned that we were under equiped. Kay and I were short pumps, for pumping water out of the boat once we turned them rightside up after flipping them upside down. We also learned that to explore rolling you need a full skirt. Oh well next time and thanks to our new friends we had what we needed when we needed it. I also experimented with taking some underwater pictures and again learned some things. Next time they will be better. At any rate it was a great time and I hope that maybe during the colder months next winter we might be able to do it more often. So thats to everyone and I am sure we will see you all agian soon. June 1st for sure at Lake Alvin.

Thanks for coming to the event. It was very nice meeting you. Ed, if you could email me a few of the underwater photos that you took - even if they didn't turn out perfect - i'd love it. Thanks again.
