September 12, 2008 New Bikes
Well the first thing I need to do is apologize for not having pictures on our new wheels. I will add them very soon. Tonight was the first night we got to try out our new rode bikes. After riding all summer on our hybrids we came to the conclusion we needed something a bit more suitable for long rode rides. So we did our homework and ended up with new bikes from our friends at Two Wheeler Dealer. Kay got a Specialized Ruby Comp, with pink trim. I got a Specialized Roubiax Elite Comp. After a couple hours of getting fit to the bikes by pros at Two Wheeler Dealer we were ready to go. Well we headed to the bike trail and spent a few minutes getting used to the difference in the ride from our hybrid bikes. Didn't take but a few minutes to get off and rolling a full pace. It was a nice night for a ride. Now wind, cool temps and low traffic. Well it did not take long to realize the big differences in the bikes. The new road bikes were much faster and took less effort to ride. I really liked the comfort and the options of positions the bike offers for riding. We soon had completed the loop around the city and were back on the south end. When we hit Minnesota Ave. I told Kay I was going to break off and ride to Two Wheeler Dealer to ask them a couple questions about the new bike. Kay continued on the trail, loaded up her bike and came to get me. We both agreed we were going to have many happy miles on the new wheels.
