September 3, 2008 FAB Ride

Last night was a first for us, but not the last ride, with FAB. For those of you who are unfamiliar with FAB it stands for the Falls Area Bicyclists. A very active group with many opportunities to ride no matter what your skill level. It was nice to put some face to some of the names I am used to seeing on their web sight, http://www.clubfab.org/index.php. There were eight of us including the ride leader Greg Anderson. It was a great night with cool temps, not much wind and a route with lots of rolling hills. We all meet at Annie's in Rowena and headed out. The ride took us south and back east till we headed back north just outside Larchwood. We rode north and then turned back west into Valley Springs and then back south to Rowena. It was a smooth ride. Even the three dogs we encountered were not problem. By the time we got back to Rowena, 25 miles later, it was getting dark. The days are really getting shorter fast. It will not be long before we are forced back into the gym for the winter. Although we plan to ride as many Saturdays as we can during the winter. After work is out, it will be dark, but hopefully we will get some temperate Saturday or Sundays when we can still beat the pavement. Again thanks to everyone last night for making us feel welcomed. We look forward to many more miles with you.
